MY BROTHERS STUDY

My brother’s study is so cluttered.  How does he manage to get around in there?  Not only does he have tons of engineering books and texts on computers and data processing and programming all over the room, but back issues of engineering journals and magazines scattered around as well.  I usually tend to avoid even going to his house, but the other night I was invited to dinner with he and Jackie because they’ll be in Florida over the holidays.  It was an offer I couldn’t refuse—Jackie’s a really great cook.  Anyway, there I was, after dinner, in his study!  “Let me show you something,” he said.  He turned on his elaborate computer system.  Everything on there is completely state-of-the-art, and I mean completely up to date…you’d think he spends all of his money on his equipment.  I just hope their mortgage is paid off!  “I’m developing a whole new series of relocation software,” he explained.  I asked him what that meant; I really had no idea.  “It’s for businesspeople who get laid off.  I’m putting every single possible resource in there for them.  Not just in Chicago, but all across the country.  This is going to be big, and it’s a great thing for when I retire.”  He also mentioned that our sister, Marilyn, would be his webmaster.  “Since when does Marilyn know anything about computers?” I gasped.  “Oh, you’d be surprised,” he laughed.
